Follow the arrows

Arrows tell you whether the mystery artist debuted earlier or later, released more or fewer albums, and has a bigger or smaller fanbase. Green means an exact match; yellow highlights partial overlaps.

Genres narrow it down

Genres are kept deliberately broad — rock, pop, hip hop, electronic and so on. One shared genre plus a matching country shrinks the candidate pool dramatically.

Each genre shared with the mystery artist is highlighted. A partial match means at least one genre overlaps.
What counts as the first album?
The release year of the artist's earliest album in the catalog — the same rule for bands and solo acts.
Is there a hint?
After five failed guesses you can reveal the artist's photo. After ten you may give up and see the answer.
Which artists can be the answer?
A few hundred of the most-followed artists on Deezer across many genres, so every mystery artist is one you could reasonably know.
