Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 23, 2026CPSCount (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and your rights regarding your personal data when you use the CPSCount website at cpscount.com and all associated services (the “Service”).
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address — provided during email registration or retrieved from Google Sign-In
- Display name / username — chosen by you or derived from your email
- Authentication identifiers — a unique user ID generated by Firebase Authentication
We do not store your password. Authentication is handled entirely by Google Firebase Authentication, which hashes and secures credentials independently.
1.2 Usage Data
When you use the Service, we automatically collect:
- Click test results — CPS scores, click counts, test duration, test mode, timestamps, and rank
- Game progress — XP totals, level, title, total clicks, total tests completed, best CPS
- Shop data — owned themes, cursor trails, badges, equipped cosmetics, Click Coin balance
- Leaderboard entries — scores submitted to public leaderboards including username, CPS, click count, and timestamp
1.3 Local Storage Data
For users who do not create an account, we store limited data in your browser’s localStorage including guest test history, sound preferences, and equipped theme. This data never leaves your device.
1.4 Optional Hardware Feedback
Signed-in users may optionally enter the model name of a mouse, keyboard, or monitor and add a concern about that device. We link this submission to the user’s CPSCount profile and store the test page where it was entered. When a device entry is submitted, we may also record coarse browser-exposed specifications such as platform, screen dimensions, pixel ratio, color depth, touch-point count, approximate refresh rate, device memory, and processor-thread count. Browsers do not provide us with the exact model of a peripheral automatically.
If you begin entering a device name and pause without pressing send, the entry may be saved automatically after a short delay when you are signed in and the name is longer than five characters. Device names may appear in autocomplete suggestions after the same model has been reported by multiple users, and in aggregate statistics. Concerns and account linkage are visible only to authorized administrators.
1.5 Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect your real name (unless you use it as a username), physical address, phone number, payment information, precise geolocation, or IP address logs. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics services that build user profiles.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
- Authenticate your identity and secure your account
- Save and display your test history, progress, XP, and level
- Populate and maintain public leaderboards
- Track your Click Coin balance and cosmetic purchases
- Detect and prevent cheating, fraud, and abuse through anti-cheat validation
- Improve the Service based on aggregate, non-identifying usage patterns
- Build aggregate hardware reliability statistics and improve future device comparisons and recommendations
We do not use your information for advertising, marketing emails, or profiling. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.
3. Data Storage and Security
Account data, usage data, and optional hardware feedback are stored in our PostgreSQL service database. Firebase Authentication handles account security. All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption, and authenticated server endpoints enforce profile ownership and administrator access.
While we implement reasonable security measures, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account data and usage data for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, your personal profile data is removed before we ask Firebase Authentication to remove the login. If that second step is temporarily unavailable, a limited deletion job containing the account identifier and error status is retained only to finish or verify the deletion. After completion, we retain only a one-way cryptographic marker of the deleted account identifier so an old login token cannot recreate the deleted profile; this marker does not contain the profile or hardware reports. Leaderboard entries may be retained in anonymized form to preserve leaderboard history.
5. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:
- Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction — Update or correct inaccurate personal data
- Deletion — Request deletion of your account and personal data
- Data portability — Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Objection — Object to processing of your data in certain circumstances
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@cpscount.com. We will respond within 30 days.
6. Children’s Privacy
The Service is open to users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information without your consent, contact us and we will promptly delete such information.
7. Third-Party Services

8. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed and stored in data centers outside your country of residence, including in the United States, through Google Cloud Platform infrastructure. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top indicates the most recent revision. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
