A global CPS average is meaningless without the context of a timer. This directory allows you to segment your mechanical skill. In a 1-second burst, your nervous system fires at maximum capacity—techniques like Drag or Butterfly clicking produce massive spikes here, often exceeding 20 CPS. However, this metric is purely a ceiling and does not reflect sustainable performance in competitive environments.

Understanding Score Distribution

The 10-second test is the industry standard for benchmarking real-world CPS. It is long enough to average out hardware double-clicks or lucky bursts, but short enough to prevent total forearm exhaustion from ruining your score.
Why is my 1-second score dramatically higher than my other times?
Short windows heavily favor statistical variance. A quick twitch of 4 rapid clicks inside a 1-second window artificially inflates your CPS to numbers that are physically impossible to sustain. It measures your ceiling, not your actual speed.
What is a 'good' CPS score across the different timers?
Context matters: Hitting 12 CPS in a 1-second test is slightly above average. However, maintaining that exact same 12 CPS across a full 60-second test places you in the top 1% of elite endurance clickers globally.
Are different mouse gripping styles better for different timers?
Yes. A highly tensed 'claw grip' used for Jitter clicking is incredibly effective for 1 to 5-second tests but often causes cramping during 60-second tests. Endurance testing usually requires a more relaxed palm grip to prevent Repetitive Strain Injuries.
