Drag, pinch or scroll over the red object or use the + and − buttons until both are at their true relative size. Drag the blue one to slide it alongside, or turn on the move button to drag either.

Keyboard: ← → to resize (hold Shift for fine steps), Enter to lock in.

Resize to true scale

Every round puts a reference object in blue next to a mystery object in red. Drag, pinch, scroll over the red object or use the + and − buttons to resize the red silhouette, then lock in. The silhouette keeps the artwork's own proportions, so the only thing you change is how big it is.

Fair logarithmic scoring

Your error is measured as a ratio, so a guess twice too big costs exactly as much as one twice too small. Land within 3% of the real size and the round is worth a full 100 points — ten rounds make 1000.

Eleven categories, 260+ silhouettes

Animals and dinosaurs measured from published figures, the Sun, the planets and the best-known moons at their real diameters, countries and continents compared by published area, the world’s tallest buildings and famous landmarks at their architectural height, plus Marvel, DC, Star Wars, Transformers and Dota 2. Fictional sizes are approximate and depend on the version shown.

Mixed, Unlimited and the Workshop

Mixed deals ten rounds from every category at once. Unlimited keeps you in one category and remembers which objects you have already seen. In the Workshop you can build a set from the catalog, from simple shapes, or from a PNG you upload yourself.

Guess the Size FAQ

How do I play Guess the Size?
You get two silhouettes. The blue one is the reference; the red one starts at a random scale. Resize the red object by dragging, pinching, scrolling over it, or with the + and − buttons, then press Lock in. The red object then animates to its true size and the game shows how far off you were.
How is the score calculated?
By the ratio between your guess and the real size, on a logarithmic scale. Within 3% you score 100; the further off you are the fewer points you get, and a guess six times too big or too small scores zero. Being 50% too big and 33% too small count as the same mistake.
Why is everything a flat red or blue shape?
Only the outline is meant to help you. Every picture in the game is masked down to its alpha channel and filled with one colour — blue for the reference, red for the object you resize — so you judge size and proportion instead of recognising colours or details.
Are the sizes accurate?
Animals, dinosaurs and space bodies use published measurements or typical adult figures, and each silhouette is scaled by the real drawing inside its file rather than by the transparent frame around it. Marvel, DC, Star Wars, Transformers and Dota 2 sizes are approximate, version-specific and, where no size has ever been published, our own scale reference.
What are Mixed and Unlimited?
Mixed deals ten rounds drawn from every category at once. Unlimited lets you pick one category and play it as long as you like; each category remembers which objects you have seen and shows the unused ones first.
Can I create my own comparisons?
Yes. In the Workshop you can build a set of 3 to 20 rounds from catalog objects, simple shapes, or your own PNG upload, then publish it and share the link. Publishing costs 50 coins and playing is free. The author earns 1 coin for a like from each unique other signed-in account after that player completes the set.
Does Guess the Size work on phones?
Yes. On a touch screen you can pinch or drag to resize and use the + and − buttons; on a computer the mouse wheel and arrow keys work too (hold Shift for fine steps, Enter to lock in). No download or sign-up is needed to play.

Fictional characters, ships and heroes are shown only as one-colour silhouettes for size comparison. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
