How the Minesweeper Rankings Work

Minesweeper is the original logic puzzle — reveal cells, read the numbers, flag the mines, clear the board. On CPSCount there are two ranked ways to play the classic Minesweeper game online. Infinite mode ranks you by your highest score; Level mode ranks you by the highest level you reach.

Infinite Mode — Highest Score Wins

Infinite mode is a pure score chase on large boards: pick Easy (12×12), Normal (16×16) or Hard (20×20), and clear board after board while your score carries over. You bank 20 points for every mine you correctly identify and 100 for each board you clear, so the leaderboard rewards accurate mine reading and how many boards you stack together in one run. Harder difficulties have a higher mine density and pay a bigger reward multiplier. The board ranks players by their single best run.

Level Mode — The Endless Campaign

Level mode is a campaign of fixed challenges. Each level has a board size and a mine count built deterministically from the level number, so level 37 plays the same for everyone, and the first ten levels are tiny and gentle so beginners can learn the rules. The Level board ranks players by the highest level they have ever cleared. Because progress is forward-only, your best level is permanent.

Validated, Honest Scores

Every submitted run is checked server-side before it reaches this board. A score has to be physically possible for the time played and consistent with the cells revealed and boards cleared, so impossible, sped-up or fabricated runs are rejected. The rankings you are chasing are real ones set by real players solving the same Minesweeper game you are.

How is the Minesweeper leaderboard ranked?

It depends on the mode. The Infinite board ranks players by their highest score — 20 points per mine correctly identified plus 100 per board cleared, accumulated across a single run. The Level board ranks players by the highest level they have ever reached in the deterministic campaign.

Does difficulty affect my Infinite ranking?

The leaderboard ranks by raw score, so a high score is a high score regardless of difficulty. Harder settings have a higher mine density, which makes big runs tougher but pays a larger reward multiplier in coins and XP. Pick the difficulty you can clear the most boards on.

What ends an Infinite run?

Hitting a mine ends the run. You can revive once per run for 50 coins to get a fresh board and keep your score, and the End game button banks your run whenever you want. Whatever score you reach is what gets submitted to this board.
